BOYCOTT OF
DUTCH SHIPS
BATAVIA. Sunday. (A.A.P.}
Tho Premier (Dr. Sjahrir) has
said he does not intend asking the
Australian watcrsiders to lift the
boycott on Dutch ships until the
N.E.I. Govornmont removes what
he describes as the Dutch's Navy's
economic blockade of the now
recognised Indonesian Republic.
He proposes sending an Indon-
esian "special commissioner" to
Australia as soon as the Federal
Government is prepared to ac-
credit him.
Ho told Reutcr-A.A.P. to-day
that he was anxious himself to
pay an official visit to Australia
to discuss the boycott and other
important means of immediately
implementing economic co-opera-
tion between tho two countries.
He hinted that the special com-
missioner might be a Minister
from his National Cabinet. He
said, the Dutch authorities would
be informed before the appoint-
ment was made.
