Back to work after recovering from his 175ft. fall from the Harbour Bridge, Vincent Roy Kelly yesterday was the most congratulated man in Sydney.
One of the first to felicitate him was Mr. Bavin, the ex-Premier. After that it was one long series of handshakes.
But the least excited about it all was Kelly. He resumed his job as if nothing had happened, and wondered what all the fuss was about.
Nervous? Kelly's eyes twinkled when someone asked the question.
"Did you ever know a Kelly to suffer from nerves?" they seemed to say.
And Kelly intends to keep on riveting on the giddy heights until the last rivet is driven home.
"After that," he says, "I may have time to feel nervous."
