LEAVING FOR ENGLAND.
Visiting Lithgow on Saturday to bid
farewell to her sister, Mrs. J. T. Hurley,
and many local friends, was Miss Kathleen
Butler, formerly of Mt. Victoria, and now
of Hurlstone Park. Miss Butler is confid-
ential secretary to Mr. J. C. Bradfield, chief
engineer to the North Shore bridge and city
railway, and sails by the Ormonde to-day
to take charge of the office in London, es-
tablished to confer with Messrs. Dorman,
Long and Co., the successful bridge tender-
ers.
Miss Butler was clerk and typiste to Mr.
W. F. Burrows when the Government test-
ing office was first opened at the Lithgow
ironworks, and was later transferred to the
Public Works Department. A host of local
and district friends will be pleased to hear
of her success, and will wish her continued
good fortune in the future.
Accompanying Miss Butler will be three
young engineers, one of whom will be Mr.
J. Holt, B.E., son of Mr. J. Holt, a former
licensee of Tattersall's Hotel. The party
will be away about six months.
