M14

Morotai Trial M14 was an Australian war crimes trial conducted on Morotai on 20 December 1945. The case concerned the murder of Royal Australian Air Force airman McGuigan and Royal Australian Navy Sick Bay Attendant A. Hill, who were prisoners of war in Japanese custody during the Second World War. Lieutenant Yunomura Fumiwo of the 8th Garrison Unit at Sario was charged with ordering and causing their deaths.

The court found Lieutenant Yunomura guilty and initially sentenced him to death by shooting. Following review by the Judge Advocate General, however, the sentence was commuted to five years' imprisonment.
