M10

Morotai Trial M10 was an Australian war crimes trial conducted on Morotai between 14 and 15 December 1945. The case concerned the murder of Royal Australian Air Force airmen Hann, Walters and King, and formed part of the series of prosecutions arising from the same killings that began with the first Morotai war crimes trial. Colonel Koba Shigeru, commander of the Talaud Garrison, and Major Tamura Toshio of the 211 Infantry Regiment, 32nd Division, were charged with responsibility for the murders.

The court found both officers guilty and sentenced them to death by shooting. The sentences were confirmed and carried out on Morotai on 6 March 1946. Although the proceedings were later reviewed by the Judge Advocate General, no Judge Advocate was present during the trial itself.
